Zhi Ping Li has been practicing acupuncture and Chinese medicine more than 25 years. He comes from a family of medical practitioners. His father is a neurologist and his mother is an OBGYN doctor.

He graduated from Shanghai University of traditional Chinese medicine, in 1984. In this famous traditional medical school in Asia, he spent 5 years in extensive training of both Chinese and Western medicine. This included one year as the attending physician in the teaching hospital. For his residency, he worked in several different departments which included Chinese acupuncture, Massage, Internal medicine, Neurology, Orthopedic, Pediatric, Gynecology and Physical therapy.

After graduation, he went to Beijing and worked at the Acupuncture Center of the Teaching Hospital at Beijing University of Chinese medicine. Because of his outstanding work, he was assigned as a clinical supervisor of senior medical students, and foreign students. At the same time, he was also involved many research projects. These included acupuncture treatments for Bell's Palsy; acupuncture and cupping for neurodermatitis, acupuncture and injection treatments Epilepsy, etc.


In 1988 Zhi Ping Li came to America to continue his advanced study and to introduce traditional Chinese medicine. He received his master degree in special rehabilitation from Western Michigan University in 1992. Since 1995, he has been teaching Chinese style Acupuncture and massage in the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) at Watertown, MA. As an assistant professor and clinical

supervisor, he has taught several courses, such as pathology, clinic skills, treatment modalities, Chinese TuiNa (Massage), and case study. He also gave several workshops of continuing education classes and supervised the student Clinic. Meanwhile, he has established his two clinics in Roslindale square and South Boston. In 2002 he began working at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute of Harvard Medical School.

During the last couple of years, Zhi Ping Li also has participated in several research programs, which included Acute low-back pain study with the Harvard Medical School in 2000; Stop hypertension with Acupuncture with the Massachusetts General Hospital and the New England Research Institute in 2001; Chronic low-back pain treatment with the Harvard Medical and Harvard Osher Institute;

Acupuncture for quality of life of cancer patient from 2003 to 2004 with the Zakim Center of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute; Acupuncture for chemotherapy induced neutropenia currently with NESA, Harvard Osher Institute and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Zhi Ping Li also is one of the board members of the Massachusetts Chinese Society of TCM. In the greater Boston area, he has given many lectures and workshops to introduce Chinese Medicine. With his 25 years of experience and knowledge, he has treated and helped thousands of patients and also solved many difficult medical cases. His specialty is treating cancer patients and related symptoms, gastrointestinal disorders, neurological disorders, and emotional disorders.
